BIO 334 - Plant Physiology4 credits (Fall or Spring) An assessment of the physiological, biochemical, and molecular mechanisms underlying the life processes of plants. This course will examine major plant functions with emphasis on water relations, nutrient metabolism, photosynthesis and respiration, control of plant growth and development, and response of plants to a changing environment. The laboratory and readings from the primary literature will highlight both biochemical and physiological techniques to examine the response of plants to environmental stress.
Prerequisite: BIO 252 or BCM 262 , with grade S, C, or better. Note: Not offered every year. Instructor: DeRidder
