ANT 395-02 - Advanced Special Topic: Feminist and Decoloial Studies in Anthropology

4 credits (Fall)
Course introduces students to feminist and decolonial studies as an interdisciplinary field of inquiry, serving as a primer on feminist and decolonial theory. The latter half of the course focuses on feminism as a social movement but also as a way of thinking about politics, with an emphasis on history, representation, and public display of feminist subjects. We will also study how indigenous, afro descendants, Earth defenders, and LGBT+ activists have changed the way in which feminist studies are thought.

Prerequisite: ANT 280  or GWS 111  with grade S, C, or better.
Instructor: Ruiz Trejo
