SOC 295-03 - Special Topic: Black Politics4 credits (Fall) Beginning from the Civil War and ending with Black Lives Matter, this course explores the multifaceted ways in which African Americans have impacted both United States and Global Politics over the past 200 years. This course will elucidate the multitude of aims and perspectives that African American people have used to fight against injustice. Additionally, it will expose students to the people, social movements, organizations, and coalitions that have both made change possible and have had a cultural impact on the world.
Prerequisite: SOC 111 with grade S, C, or better. Instructor: Foote
