SPN 295-01 - Special Topic: Current Events in the Spanish Speaking World4 credits (Fall) This conversation-based course is designed to familiarize students with periodicals and news sources from the Spanish-speaking world as well as current events being discussed in these forums. Students will read different types of news outlets and periodicals from diverse regions of the Spanish-speaking world and study themes that are prevalent in these sources, such as politics, sports, and culture. Students will develop critical literacy skills, speaking, and writing skills, with emphasis on improvisational speaking.
Prerequisite: SPN 217 with grade S, C, or better. Instructor: Escoriza-Gallardo
