EDU 295-01 - Special Topic: Mapping Racial Trauma in Schools4 credits (Fall) This course focuses on the relationship between Black youth and the institution of school in the post-Brown v. Board era through Black Intellectual Thought. While Brown is always positioned as a positive for the lives of Black Americans, schools in the US remain a space of social and intellectual suffering for Black youth. We will examine the technologies and pedagogies of racialized trauma in schools, emphasizing how they maintain white supremacy.
