GRM 295-01 - Special Topic: Special Topic: Planet Germany - Polar Bears, Solar Flares, and the Dystopian Limits of Catastrophe

4 credits (Spring)
Cross-listed as: EAS 295-02  and ENV 295-01 .  This course examines German science fiction and related texts that envision future scenarios for nature, climate, and ecology. Readings include works by Juli Zeh, Christoph Ransmayr, and Frank Schätzing, among others. Students study how speculative stories engage with sustainability, crises, and the cultural politics surrounding the environment.

Prerequisite: Second-year standing. 
Note: Plus-2 option available. Foreign language option available.
