HIS 228 - The Promised Land: U.S. Immigration History4 credits (Fall) This course examines variations and commonalities in the experiences of those who have voluntarily emigrated to the United States since the mid-19th century. The focus of the course is on the experiences of immigrants, the attitudes toward immigrants among native-born Americans, and trends in the U.S. immigration policy.
Prerequisite: HIS 100 or second-year standing. Note: Plus-2 option available. Not offered every year. Instructor: Brown
